This is about losing altitude and losing your mind; this was love.

This is about a boy who had his head up in the clouds.
This is about a boy who decided he wanted to be deep down below instead.

This is about a girl who tells him she’s sorry she couldn’t love him back.
This is also about a girl who tells him to please tell her when he’s tired of trying.

This is about a boy, confused to what the waves were saying.
This is about a boy caught up in a storm as he plunges into the sea.

This is about a boy who fell for a girl.
This is about losing wings and losing bearings; this is tragedy.

This is about a boy, lost in the blue.
This is about a girl who decided she finally found someone to love.

This is about a boy, who wasn’t that someone.
This is about a poem about a boy who realized he was unlovable.

This is about a boy finding the shore after years of drowning.
This is about a boy telling her he’s done.

This is about the sea telling him thank you for making her feel loved.
This is about a boy who lies to a girl about what he really feels.

This is about a boy who fell for a girl.
This is a poem that does not end happily. This is a story that has not found its end.
